A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain embedded software for optical transceivers. The role involves designing, implementing, and testing firmware while collaborating closely with hardware engineers to ensure reliability and efficiency in device operation.
JOB SUMMARY
Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineer develops and maintains the embedded software for optical transceivers, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently. This role requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software, with responsibilities including designing, implementing, testing, and debugging firmware for these devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Firmware Development: Writing, debugging, and testing firmware for optical transceivers, often using C or C++.
• Hardware Integration: Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure the firmware works seamlessly with the transceiver's hardware.
• Testing and Validation: Thoroughly testing firmware to ensure it meets performance and reliability requirements.
• Problem Solving: Debugging and resolving issues with firmware and hardware integration.
• Performance Optimization: Optimizing firmware for speed, efficiency, and power consumption.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of firmware code and functionality.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree: Typically a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Relevant experience in firmware development, embedded systems, and optical transceivers is highly desirable.
• Master's Degree or Ph.D.: May be preferred or required for more senior positions.
