Job summary

Infratrak Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to lead pre-sales design and oversee high-level data center systems, including chillers, CDU, and thermal storage. You will coordinate with Sales to craft holistic solutions and ensure discipline integration across cooling, water, ventilation, and mechanical requirements.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in engineering, with 6+ years in data centers; Chartered Engineer or similar licensure is expected, with Uptime/TIA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: minimum 10 years in engineering, with at least 6 years in Data Center sector.
• Licensing: Chartered Engineer or Licensed Professional Engineer (e.g., CIBSE, PEB Singapore, HKIE) required; Uptime Accredited Tier Designer or TIA Designer desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering input for client RFP responses; collaborate with Sales to design holistic solutions that integrate internal and supplier products.
• Oversee high-level design for complex data center systems, including chillers, CDU, and thermal considerations; ensure cross-discipline requirements are captured.
• Negotiate with end-users, operators, and local bodies to develop engineering solutions for siteselection and project development.
• Provide technical support to the Delivery team; diagnose and implement solutions for on-site mechanical issues during construction and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain company standards; ensure compliance with international standards and regional regulations.
• Partner with Product and Procurement to evaluate vendors and assist in technical product selection.
• Manage and assist in the professional development of the Design & Engineering team.

Job description

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Pre-Sales& Solution Design(30%):Lead the mechanical engineering input for client RFP responses; collaborate with the Sales team to design and defend technical solutions that integrate internal and supplier products.Lead and coordinate other trades and to ensure that the proposed solution is holistic and complete.Actively pursue,incorporateandassistother departments & in other disciplines, and resolve interdependencies.

• Technical Design & Engineering(15%):Oversee high-level design for complex datacentersystems, including water/air-cooled chillers, cooling distribution units (CDU), and specialized fire suppression; perform and review critical calculations for PUE, WUE, and thermal storage.Ensure that other disciplines cooling, water,ventilationand other mechanicalrequirements are captured, real and reasonable.

• Stakeholder Consultation & Negotiation(15%):Negotiate with end-users, operators, and local governing bodies to develop engineering solutions for siteselectionand project development.

• Project Oversight & Troubleshooting(10%):Provide technical support to the Delivery team; diagnose and implement effective solutions for mechanical issuesencounteredon-site during construction and commissioning.

• Standards & Quality Governance(10%):Develop andmaintaincompany standards and best practices; ensure all mechanical solutionscomply withinternational standards (e.g., Uptime, TIA) and regional regulations.

• Product & Procurement Support(10%):Partner with the Product and Procurement teams to evaluate vendors andassistin technical product selection.

• Team Development (10%):Manage andassistin the professional development of the Design & Engineering team engineers, technicians,draftersand otherteam members.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringrequired;Master’sdegree preferred.

• Experience:A minimum of 10 years of work experience in engineering, with at least 6 years specifically in the DataCentersector.

• Certifications/Licenses:Chartered Engineer or Licensed Professional Engineer (e.g., CIBSE, PEB Singapore, HKIE) isrequired. Uptime Accredited Tier Designer or TIA Certified Designer is highly desired.

• Technical Skills:Proficiencyin HVAC designespecially datacentre systems, P&D/FS systems, and control parameter tuning (PID); expert understanding of constructability, testing, and commissioning processes;operations and maintenance requirements.
