Job summary

SJ Group in Singapore seeks a Lead Designer and Qualified Person (Design) to lead reclamation, marine retaining structures, soil improvement and dredging projects across local and international markets.

You will establish design methodologies, review technical input, and endorse designs for authority submissions and tender documentation, while guiding senior engineers and ensuring compliance with GIR where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including design of reclamation projects.
• Demonstrated capability in establishing design methodology and providing technical governance on major projects.
• Singapore-Registered Professional Engineer in Civil or Geotechnical preferred.
• Excellent technical and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Designer and Qualified Person (Design) for reclamation, marine retaining structures, soil improvement and dredging works.
• Establish design methodologies, assumptions, parameters, constraints and interfaces for reclamation design.
• Review all technical input and output from the project team and assure verifications are complete.
• Endorse engineering designs, calculations, drawings and reports for authority submissions and D&B tender documentation.
• Provide senior technical advice and governance; guide and mentor the design engineers.
• Where in the geotechnical discipline, oversee/endorse the Geotechnical Interpretative Report (GIR).
