Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a seasoned Manager of Technical Writers to lead end-user documentation for genetic analysis, biomarker discovery, and related fields. You will mentor a team, coordinate with R&D, regulatory, and product teams, and ensure documentation meets audience needs across instruments, software, assays, and reagents.

The ideal candidate has strong scientific communication skills, agile project planning, and experience with XML-based authoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of technical writing experience.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor writers on end-user docs.
• Plan and prioritize projects; distribute work.
• Review and edit content for clarity and audience relevance.
• Improve content organization and delivery.
• Write new content as needed.
• Manage capacity, hire writers and contractors, and handle vendors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across sites.
• Incorporate customer feedback to improve docs.
• Foster continuous process improvement.
• Develop and track operational metrics.
