Job summary

Aleph Labs in Singapore is seeking a Java Lead to join an Agile team. You will build highly available, distributed Java-based applications where performance matters and collaborate across infrastructure layers.

Lead design discussions, mentor junior developers, drive CI/CD practices, and ensure timely delivery of enterprise banking solutions. You will align with product vision and steer technical decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, SQL, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, RESTful Services, Web Services, XML, JSON
• 5+ years' experience as a team leader.
• Must have experience in the banking domain.
• Strong experience in application development frameworks such as EJB, Camel, Spring, Hibernate in the Java platform
• Knowledge of Oracle, DB2 or similar database management system
• CI tools experience i.e. Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Maven
• Experience of development using web technologies
• Knowledge of JBoss, IBM Websphere, WebLogic
• Must have worked in Agile methodology
• Excellent debugging and optimisation skill

Responsibilities

• Drive Requirements Lifecycle from abstract vision to detailed functional requirements and business processes.
• Develop prototype plans for an enterprise system with key features and integration strategies.
• Develop modules of the initial enterprise system plan and code advanced portions; delegate routine coding to juniors.
• Conduct testing of completed code modules and fix issues for smooth deployment.
• Lead changes by identifying and implementing new developments to improve coding and documentation.
• Scale CI/CD processes and contribute to the CI/CD community and tools.

Job description

We are seeking a Java Lead to join a collaborative, Agile team. You will be responsible for building highly available, distributed and enterprise Java-based applications, where system performance is critical. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Requirements Lifecycle: From abstract product vision all the way to detailed functional requirements, system integration, and business processes required to support them.
• Work with other members of a planning team to develop a prototype plan for an enterprise system, including what key features system users require in the system as well as integration strategies to update existing systems that will transition into the new system built down the road.
• Develop modules of the initial enterprise system plan and work with the development team by coding advanced portions of the modules and delegating routine coding to junior Java developers
• Conduct the testing of completed code modules, fixing code as needed to ensure a smooth system deployment with the intended functionality
• Lead the Change - Change the way the client perceives coding and documentation by identifying, interpreting and implementing new developments with a focus on problem solving and improvement. Extract and integrate cross- projects components and libraries. Build a culture where development is exciting and fun!
• Provide Expertise - Scale continuous integration and delivery on a global level and teach others how to use it to mitigate risk and compliance issues. Contribute to an existing continuous integration and delivery community / tool.
• Accountable to work with the team and Architect to execute on the technical design and solutions.
• Leadership - Acknowledge that there are different programming paradigms and can argue where a certain paradigm / language is applicable. Serve as the go-to moderator or mentor for members to seek technical guidance from.
• Continuous Improvement – Work with tribe coaches, platform leads, ITALs to drive the execution and implementation of innovative ideas and initiatives that benefit the platform and project.
• Plan and execute all deployment of system features and monitor for successful integration, maintaining the system throughout its lifecycle
• Build, test and support mobile/web applications
• Recommend software solutions to emerging needs in banking functionality and report ability
