Qualifications

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Data Center Networking, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge across infrastructure technologies, software, applications, and technical processes. You continuously expand your technical expertise and cross-functional knowledge beyond your primary domain while contributing to the design, delivery, and modernization of critical infrastructure platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, migrate, and operate Data Center switching and routing infrastructure to support business and technology requirements.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain automation tools and scripts for device provisioning (pave/repave), configuration management, and day-to-day operational tasks.
• Manage the technology lifecycle of Data Center network infrastructure, including hardware refresh programs, software currency management, capacity planning, and end-of-life/end-of-support remediation to maintain a secure, resilient, and supportable environment.
• Apply deep technical expertise and advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-vendor and multi-technology environments.
• Lead network software upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives while ensuring operational stability and adherence to change management standards.
• Lead high-impact projects and collaborate with engineering, operations, security, application, and infrastructure teams to deliver network services and technology solutions.
• Lead the adoption of reuse-first, AI-assisted practices across delivery and automation workflows to reduce recurring issues, ensuring changes are validated, traceable, auditable, and aligned with resiliency and security requirements.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate the analysis of complex infrastructure environments and the documentation of mitigation options, while validating outputs and handling operational data in accordance with security, compliance, and data governance requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of network engineering, implementation, and operational experience within a large enterprise environment.
• Deep technical expertise in Data Center networking technologies, including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Nexus, ACI, BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLANs, STP, vPC/MLAG, and switch stacking.
• Practical experience with Cisco and Arista platforms, including Nexus and Catalyst product families.
• Strong experience with one or more automation frameworks and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of microservices architectures, APIs, and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins.
• Experience with Arista CloudVision (CVP), Arista Validated Designs (AVD), Cisco Network Fabric Manager (NFM), and Cisco Network as Code solutions.
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure engineering workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity and security requirements.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, elevate when appropriate, and ensure outcomes align with resiliency, security, compliance, and auditability standards.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• CCIE certification is a plus.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating ACI, BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN-based networks using platforms from vendors such as Cisco and Arista.
• Demonstrated initiative and the ability to manage assigned deliverables independently while seeking guidance when necessary and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, challenges, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
