About the Role
IMR Test Labs, Singapore is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer (Materials Testing Operations and Failure Analysis) to lead and oversee testing activities across the Metallurgy, Mechanical Testing, and Chemistry departments, and to provide metallurgical failure analysis services. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance your leadership career in a dynamic environment, working closely with other IMR sites as well as local and international customers.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee material testing operations across Metallurgy, Mechanical Testing, Chemistry, and departments.
Provide technical guidance and oversight of testing performed, review and approve test reports.
Interface with customers to understand testing requirements, propose scope of work, and ensure customer objectives are met.
Conduct metallurgical failure analysis, ensure high-quality analysis and accurate reporting.
Provide technical leadership in materials engineering, analytical techniques, and testing methodologies, and contribute to the development of new testing capabilities to meet customer requirements.
Provide technical leadership during ISO/IEC 17025, Nadcap, and other customer audits or proficiency testing activities.
Lead operational initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, improve workflows, and reduce turnaround times.
Oversee laboratory facility and EHS management activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science or Materials Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
Minimum 10 years of experience in metallurgical evaluation, failure analysis, and materials/mechanical testing.
Strong technical foundation in materials engineering and knowledge of testing and analytical techniques.
Good leadership and communication skills
Organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
