Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

  • Develop CNC programming, setting up various machine brands for aerospace machining.

  • Accomplishing work requirements by following established procedures and instructions

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to develop work plan, deliverables, required resources, monitor project activities, budget, and timing for new initiatives.

  • Lead, prepare and implement the First Article part process for NPI (New Product Introduction), including documentation package.

  • Provide guidance and support to operators in milling, turning, grinding, and EDM machining processes.

  • Lead and support troubleshooting, investigation and implement improvement initiatives of production process equipment for cycle time reduction, yield improvements and elimination of safety issues

  • Knowing and ability to design machine fixtures for machining has added advantages.

  • Monitor and stay updated with current and evolving trends in the CNC machining process manufacturing industry.

  • Generate and outline project schedule to keep all stakeholders up-to-date promptly.

  • Work with external vendors and system integrators to identify right spec size CNC equipment for shop needs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled CNC machining professional with strong expertise in Siemens/Fanuc controllers, CAD/CAM software, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). They excel in problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, enabling them to lead projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Diploma in Precision Engrg and with at least 10 years hands-on experience in the field of CNC fast-paced environment.

  • At least 7 years’ hands-on experience with 3, 4 and 5axis CNC programming CNC machining.

  • Highly experienced in CNC machining (milling, grinding, lathe and EDM), G/M coding, the use of Siemens/Fanuc controller are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Experience in mechanical drafting practices and a working knowledge of terms, rules, and applications of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Strong knowledge and experience with CAD/CAM software such as NX Siemens and Solidworks.

  • Knowledgeable to handle 3 - 5 axis Milling and Turning machining operation with confident.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting machine equipment.

  • Knowledge of industrial robots’ applications with CNC operations will be added advantages.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be a team contributors and players.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills

  • Must have strong knowledge in handling different phases of project management.

  • Able to perform work under relatively stressful environment.
