What The Role Is
We are looking for an Engineer to support the planning, implementation, operation, and enhancement of ICT and security systems for Home Team departments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure ICT solutions that support operational needs.
The Intel Programme Management Centre (IPMC) works with the Intelligence fraternity within the Home Team Departments to identify technological solutions for the rapidly evolving threats facing Singapore.
What You Will Be Working On
The candidate will be involved in the following areas:
- Support the design, implementation, and operation of ICT and security systems to ensure continuous service delivery.
- Monitor system performance, investigate incidents, perform troubleshooting, and assist in resolving technical issues to maintain operational availability and security.
- Assist in the implementation and coordination of projects to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Support the evaluation, testing, and deployment of products and services, including participation in government procurement and tender evaluation activities where required.
- Work with internal teams and external vendors to analyse system behaviour, investigate faults, identify root causes, and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with other HTX units and project teams on enterprise-wide initiatives and technology improvements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to:
- Gather and document business and technical requirements;
- Assist in feasibility studies, technology evaluation, and solution assessments;
- Support discussions with vendors and project teams on technical designs, security considerations, integration requirements, and implementation approaches.
All new appointees are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure overtime, based on performance.

What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferably 1-3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Enterprise networking and cybersecurity;
- Enterprise computing and cloud platforms;
- Data centre infrastructure and operations;
- Systems administration and operations.
- Basic understanding of IT project delivery, business analysis, or system implementation.
- Exposure to government ICT environments and policies would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of data analytics, data science, AI, or automation technologies would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, team members, and vendors.
- Able to work independently while seeking guidance when required.
