Job summary

HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency) in Singapore seeks an Engineer/Lead Engineer (Ops Systems) to deliver and maintain ICT capabilities for the Ops Systems Centre. You will plan, manage resources, and apply technical expertise to enhance Home Team operational readiness.

Responsibilities include ensuring system availability, cybersecurity planning, budget management, incident handling, vendor and contract management, and ensuring compliance with GovTech and MHA security policies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in IT or engineering fields with relevance to ICT systems.
• 5 years of related IT working experience.
• Project management certification such as PMP or CITPM is an added advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills; medical declaration may be required during shortlisting.

Operations (Ops) Systems Sustainment Centre (SC) supports Singapore’s safety and security by supporting the Home Team through: Enabling business-as-usual (BAU) for the Home Team, Ensuring system longevity, enhancing availability and reliability, Rapid response (being everywhere at any time), Creating value through robust governance in maintaining adherence to compliance and standards.

As an Engineer/Lead Engineer (Ops Systems), you are responsible for the delivery and maintenance of ICT capabilities through effective planning, management, and deployment of resources. You will apply professional knowledge and expertise to support and enhance Home Team’s operational capabilities.

What You Will Be Working On

The successful jobholder will be assigned to manage the maintenance and enhancement of ICT systems in SCDF. He/She will be minimally responsible for the following:

• Availability and reliability of the system
• Planning and system support, including CyberSecurity and Disaster Recovery exercises
• Budget and Assets management
• Monitoring and reporting (e.g. system monthly maintenance meetings)
• Problem/Incident management
• Change management
• Vendor management
• Contract management and renewals
• Risk management
• Tech Refresh and System Upgrades, and replacing hardware/software before End-Of-Support (EOS)
• Put up papers for budget and approval
• Decommissioning of old system
• Ensure systems compliance with GovTech and MHA Security Policies

What We Are Looking For

• Tertiary Education in Computer Studies, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
• The candidate should have 5 years of related IT working experience;
• Possessing project management certification such as PMP, CITPM or equivalent will be an added advantage;
• Possess good interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills.
