Job summary

HTX is Singapore's Science and Technology agency driving transformative, operationally ready solutions for public safety. The Engineer / Lead Engineer, AI Assurance will operationalise the AI Governance framework, reviewing risk submissions, monitoring governance requirements, and supporting capability-building across the Home Team.

The role requires strong analytical ability, stakeholder engagement, and experience in technology risk management or AI governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in technology risk management, AI governance or IT risk compliance.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and IMDA Governance Model.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct AI Assurance reviews to assess compliance with governance policies and track remediation actions.
• Verify AI models meet Home Team evaluation requirements and keep governance records up to date.
• Maintain AI Assurance processes, dashboards, metrics and risk reporting across projects.

Guided by our mission to amplify, augment and accelerate the Home Team's advantage, we are committed to keeping Singapore the safest place on planet Earth.The Engineer / Lead Engineer, AI Assurance will be part of a dynamic team responsible for operationalising the Home Team AI Governance framework through the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI Assurance processes and AI risk control measures. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders across the Home Team, the role will facilitate and review AI Risk Assessment submissions, monitor prevailing AI Governance requirements, and support capability-building initiatives to promote the responsible development and deployment of AI systems for the Home Team.The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with experience in technology risk management, technical due diligence, audit compliance assessment, or AI Governance policy functions. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to embed the Home Team AI Governance requirements into project delivery processes and strengthen trust in AI systems.

What you will be working on:

• Conduct AI Assurance reviews and verification activities to assess compliance with Home Team AI Governance policies, identify governance risks and gaps, and track remediation actions with project teams.
• Verify that AI models and agents meet the Home Team evaluation requirements.
• Execute and maintain AI Assurance processes, including compliance monitoring, risk tracking, reporting, and the upkeep of dashboards, metrics, and governance records.
• Deliver AI Governance and Assurance awareness initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders across pillars, functions, and product squads.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Certified IAPP AI Governance Professional (AIGP) or ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor will be a bonus.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience in technology development, software quality assurance, or IT risk compliance management.
• Experience in IT audit, AI Governance, AI Safety & Security will be a bonus.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, IMDA Governance Model Framework, and AI Ethics and Governance.
• Knowledge and experience in AI/ML technologies, data science, and data analytics with understanding of emerging AI technologies and trends
• Having domain knowledge in public safety sector will be a bonus
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with a systematic approach to evaluating AI systems, identifying risks, and ensuring governance requirements are met.
• Strong problem solver, able to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgement, and translate AI Governance requirements into practical solutions.
• Effective communicator and collaborator, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and clearly articulate AI governance, risk, and assurance requirements.
• Agile, curious, and technology-savvy, embracing AI tools and continuously learning to keep pace with emerging technologies and evolving AI developments.
• All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
