- Cellular communications
- Networks
- Endpoints
- Sensors
What You Will Be Working On
- Manage end-to-end application development, including security, for Mission Critical Communication Services (MCX) for the Home Team Departments (HTDs) to enhance their operational readiness.
- Understand and interpret users’ requirements, conduct trials, obtain budget approval, write technical specifications, and be responsible for the implementation lifecycle development of new communication services.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of end-to-end 5G design, including security, Service Orchestration, Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV), Network Slicing (NS), and relevant Android API (REST/RESTful) skills, thereby developing Communications-as-a-Service (CaaS) to meet HTDs’ operational needs.
- Plan near- and long-term architecture evolution and new capability needs for Applications Enablement.
- Demonstrate good presentation skills, with an emphasis on explaining deep technical architectural designs, logic, methods, challenges and approaches in layman’s terms, particularly for integrating solutions built on different platforms.
- Ensure that the system meets contractual availability requirements and incorporate life cycle cost (LCC) considerations and spares optimisation as part of the technical requirements.
- Have knowledge and experience in resilient solution design, with automated service/system recovery and scaling, together with the Day 2 team.
- Identify and study all preliminary and critical design parameters that may affect the operational and technical performance of the system.
- Participate in acceptance tests, such as UAT, FAT, OSAT and SSAT, and ensure that deliverables meet tender specifications.
- Be responsible for initial System Configuration Management.
- Ensure that delivered hardware and software have not reached end of support, with proper system versioning and accurate capture of delivered assets.
- Ensure that vendors resolve system faults, including hardware or software bugs, within the contractual turnaround time. For new software fixes, perform regression testing to ensure complete bug resolution without degradation of existing functions.
- Perform system upgrades and regression testing.
- Ensure that project delivery remains within schedule and budget, and that project issues are resolved promptly or escalated to management for attention.
- Provide regular project updates to HTX management on project milestones, issues and expenditure.
- Ensure that projects are implemented according to the approved project plan, meet users’ operational needs, and are delivered within the agreed project timeline and approved budget.
- Identify potential project risks early, assess their implications for the organisation and project, and recommend risk mitigation measures to minimise project delays.
- Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver communications services and capabilities.
- Ensure the proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so that the system is delivered according to contractual requirements.
- Work with external agencies and/or Home Team Departments (HTDs).
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
