Job summary

Ambition Singapore is partnering with a globally recognised luxury brand to scale its Data Science and AI capabilities across Southeast Asia. The Lead Data Scientist will act as a senior individual contributor and technical thought partner, turning complex business challenges into practical data-driven solutions.

You’ll shape best practices, establish technical standards, and mentor junior practitioners while collaborating with customer, retail, marketing, merchandising and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in Data Science / Machine Learning / Applied AI.
• Strong Python + machine learning experience.
• Experience taking ML/AI solutions from problem framing through to production.
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings or agentic AI.
• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation and measuring business impact.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes and MLOps.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and propose alternative solutions.
• A strong commercial and customer mindset, ideally gained within retail, FMCG, consumer, e-commerce or other customer-facing industries.
• Experience providing COE-style technical guidance, such as setting best practices, conducting technical reviews, mentoring or enabling other junior team members
• Curious and hands-on with emerging AI tools and technologies

Job description

I'm partnering with a globally recognised luxury brand with a strong regional presence across Southeast Asia, as they continue to grow their Data Science and AI capabilities.

Join the regional Data & AI team as a Lead Data Scientist, working as a senior individual contributor and technical thought partner to the business.

You'll work across customer, retail, marketing, merchandising and operations, turning complex business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions. Beyond building models, you'll be expected to challenge assumptions, bring your own point of view and recommend the right analytical or AI approach to solve the problem.

You'll also play a Centre of Excellence (COE)-style role, helping to shape best practices, technical standards and ways of working across Data Science and AI, while mentoring and guiding more junior practitioners

What we're looking for:

• 7+ years' experience in Data Science / Machine Learning / Applied AI
• Strong Python + machine learning experience
