The Team

Hitachi Digital is at the forefront of leveraging AI and data technologies to innovate and improve efficiency across various operational companies and departments. We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Engineer to develop robust data solutions and applications.

Role Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions focusing on Google BigQuery.
2. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data pipelines in BigQuery.
3. Integrate VectorAI and Agent Workspace for Google Gemini into data solutions.
4. Lead the development of high-performance data ingestion processes using modern ETL/ELT practices.
5. Collaborate with engineers to establish best practices, ensuring data quality, integrity, and documentation.
6. Automate reporting and analysis processes to improve efficiency.
7. Stay updated on the latest advancements in data engineering and related technologies.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data system issues.
9. Document development processes and methodologies.
10. Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
11. Provide strategic direction and leadership in data engineering and technology adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data technologies.
• 5+ years of experience migrating data workloads to BigQuery on GCP.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or SQL.
• GCP Certifications in the data space.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially GCP.
• Experience with VectorAI and Google Gemini.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proven leadership in guiding development projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data engineering tools and techniques.
• Previous experience in similar roles within tech-driven companies.
