Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering.
• Strong background in chemical/biological/genomic engineering or biotechnology.
• Post-PhD experience preferred (>2 years), fresh PhDs with outstanding records may be considered.
• Excellent written and oral communication, documentation and organization.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to optimize biochemical pathways for chemical production.
• Use AI/machine learning to accelerate development.
• Maintain records, analyze data and present findings at meetings and conferences.
• Supervise and mentor junior researchers in the team.
• Prepare proposals to support industry engagements or funding.
• Write and publish high-impact papers; prepare technical disclosures and patent filings.
• Deliver project milestones within timeline and resources.
• Represent the institute at industry meetings and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
