Job summary

BeeX is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to own core capabilities of our AUV platform, including autonomy, navigation, control and communications. You will translate research into real-time code, integrate software onto hardware, and test solutions in real ocean trials, reporting to the Software Lead.

You will lead collaborative efforts with hardware and hydrodynamics teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive software development best practices in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• PhD/MSc in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python within a Linux environment.
• Extensive experience writing code for complex robotic systems and familiarity with ROS1.
• Proficiency in Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Experience with 3D computer vision techniques and SLAM for localisation.
• Experience with sensor and actuator hardware integration.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide engineers.

Responsibilities

• Simulation, Integration & Field Testing: build high-fidelity subsea sims and HIL setups.
• Robotics Development: develop autonomous planning, mapping, and perception.
• Team Leadership: mentor junior engineers and drive best practices.
