Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore seeks a Senior AI Research Scientist to design and implement a MAS-based clinical decision support system. You will coordinate GP, pharmacist, specialist, and guideline agents to deliver structured next-best-action recommendations.

You will translate clinical workflows into executable architectures, lead simulation-based testing with clinical vignettes and synthetic data, and collaborate across clinical, product and governance teams.

Qualifications

• PhD required or equivalent in AI/CS/ML/biomedical informatics or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience building LLM applications and agentic systems.
• Deep understanding of LLM evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use and safety guardrails.
• Ability to design validation approaches for clinical AI systems and clinician workflows.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and modern AI stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the MAS/CDS harness, including agent roles, orchestration policies, and state handling.
• Build simulation-based evaluation workflows with multi-agent consultations and labeled outputs.
• Engineer validation pipelines for guideline compliance, safety, and usability.
• Integrate clinical foundation models, data sources, and knowledge bases into the CDS prototype.
• Lead pre-consult briefs and iterative consultation support with re-inference on new data.
• Collaborate with clinicians and product teams to define acceptance criteria and pilot-readiness evidence.
• Mentor junior researchers and establish engineering standards for reproducible MAS experiments.
