Job summary

TikTok Pte. Ltd. is seeking a LERT Specialist within the Law Enforcement Response Team to analyse and respond to time‑sensitive user data requests and preservation orders across APAC, MEA. You will join a global, cross‑functional team to safeguard user safety while mitigating legal risk.

In this role, you will review requests, ensure compliance with laws and internal guidelines, collaborate with legal and external partners, and help refine processes through data analysis and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years experience preferably in a Law Enforcement Response specialist role or legal field.
• Fluency in English and advanced English writing skills.
• Proven ability to analyse and accurately process data with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-moving environment; requires strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills to work independently and prioritise effectively under tight deadlines.
• Understanding of the legal mechanisms for law enforcement data access, including MLAT, and court orders.
• Experience navigating and complying with complex regulatory environments, preferably with data privacy and disclosure rules in tech.
• Be a team player who collaborates effectively in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

About the Team The Law Enforcement Response Team (LERT) is part of the Trust & Safety team. As a LERT Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing and responding to time-sensitive user data requests, preservation requests and inquiries from law enforcement across Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa.

You will work in a global and cross-functional team to ensure user safety on the platform and mitigate legal risk. You take great pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in our platform and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

• Reviewing and responding to an increasing number of user data and preservation requests from law enforcement agencies while protecting user privacy.
• Ensuring that all law enforcement requests are analysed and processed in compliance with applicable laws, internal Standard Operating Procedures, and our law enforcement guidelines, with a strong focus on evolving legal frameworks across Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional internal teams such as legal and external partners to deal with issues concerning user safety, data privacy and data disclosure.
• Ensuring operational excellence while upholding high quality, speed, and accuracy in your work.
• Gathering and analysing data on law enforcement requests to improve internal processes and consistently communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Drafting internal documentation, workflows and procedures concerning user safety, data privacy and data disclosure.
• Keeping accurate internal records and clearly articulating operational decisions.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years experience preferably in a Law Enforcement Response specialist role or legal field.
• Fluency in English and advanced English writing skills.
• Proven ability to analyse and accurately process data with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-moving environment; requires strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills to work independently and prioritise effectively under tight deadlines.
• Understanding of the legal mechanisms for law enforcement data access, including Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLAT), and court orders.
• Experience in navigating and complying with complex, strict regulatory environments, preferably with direct experience related to data privacy and disclosure rules in the technology sector.
• Be a team player who is willing to tackle challenging issues in a collaborative manner with your teammates in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in law, criminal justice or similar.
• Experience in developing or refining operational policies and procedures in response to new legal or regulatory requirements.
