Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a commercial or hotel laundry facility, with at least 1 year in a team lead or supervisory capacity.

• Industrial-grade washing machines and chemical dosing systems require technical familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift schedules across washing, drying, ironing and folding stations.

Job Summary

The Laundry Supervisor provides leadership and logistical oversight to the laundry department. This role coordinates shift schedules, tracks linen inventory, ensures proper machinery operation, and enforces safety and environmental compliance. The supervisor acts as a hands-on leader, maintaining quality control and resolving production bottlenecks or customer complaints.

1. Daily Operations & Workflow Management

• Coordinate Schedules: Assign specific tasks and distribute workloads across washing, drying, ironing, and folding stations.
• Prioritise Workflow: Determine the processing order (e.g., guest garments, fast-turnaround linen) to ensure timely deliveries.
• Equipment Oversight: Monitor industrial washing machines, dryers, steam presses, and extractors to ensure correct setup and operation.
• Logistics Coordination: Supervise the loading of delivery carts and coordinate with housekeeping or external departments to maintain a steady supply of fresh linen.
  

2. Quality Control & Inventory Management

• Inspect Finished Goods: Review items for proper stain removal, crisp ironing, and structural damage (tears, loose threads) before distribution.
• Stock Tracking: Take part in monthly inventory counts and track the daily consumption of laundry detergents, chemicals, and bleaches.
• Fabric Care Guidance: Apply technical knowledge of fabric types (e.g., cotton, polyester, delicates) to prevent discoloration or shrinking.

3. Team Leadership & Safety Compliance

• Staff Training: Onboard new hires regarding equipment operation, textile handling, chemical dilution safety, and safe lifting techniques.
• Enforce Safety Standards: Ensure staff consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle hazardous chemical agents correctly.
• Performance Tracking: Conduct daily briefings, monitor attendance, and assist management with staff performance reviews

Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in a commercial or hotel laundry facility, with at least 1 year in a team lead or supervisory capacity.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a tertiary degree in hospitality, tourism, or business management is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with industrial-grade washing machines, chemical dosing systems, and troubleshooting minor equipment errors.

Physical Stamina: Ability to work extended periods standing, walking, and lifting heavy laundry bags in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively handle guest inquiries or address staff issues.
