Job summary

The Lentor Residence Pte Ltd is seeking Laundry Assistants for Lentor Health Nursing Home (Hougang). You will perform daily laundry tasks, wash, dry, and fold items, and deliver clean laundry to wards according to schedule.

On-the-job training is provided, and candidates with no prior healthcare experience are welcome. Basic sewing skills are a plus, and you should understand simple English and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect, wash, dry and fold laundry and deliver clean items to wards as scheduled.

• Clean washers, dryers and storage areas; operate machines safely per SOPs.
• Adhere to infection control, workplace safety and fire guidelines.

About the Role

At Lentor Health Nursing Home (Hougang), we believe that every senior deserves to live with dignity, purpose, and joy.

We are looking for Laundry Assistants to perform daily laundry tasks according to standard procedures in nursing homes.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collect soiled laundry from wards, wash, dry, and fold items, and deliver clean laundry to wards according to schedule.

2. Ensure proper segregation of clean and soiled items at all times to prevent cross-contamination.

3. Inspect laundry items and equipment for stains, damage, or wear, and report any issues promptly to the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager.

4. Clean washers and dryers and maintain clean and orderly storage areas.

5. Operate washing machines and dryers safely and efficiently in accordance with established SOPs.

6. Follow safety precautions when performing tasks, operating equipment, and handling washing chemicals.

7. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment breakdowns immediately to the supervisor.

8. Adhere strictly to infection control, workplace safety, and fire safety guidelines at all times.

9. Perform minor clothing repairs and basic sewing tasks for residents' garments.

10. Assist with other housekeeping or operational support duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

• Able to understand and speak simple English

• Team player with responsible and hardworking attitude

• Relevant working experience in healthcare or basic sewing skills will be an advantage.

• Candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply; on-the-job training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Possesses excellent physical stamina alongside rapid task orientation, with careful precision and a steady composure

• Able to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads
