Job summary

NTS Singapore is seeking a Laser Welding Specialist to set up, operate, and program laser welding robots to meet production needs and optimize processes. You'll work with Engineering to refine welding programs, tooling, and jig designs, ensuring precise automated welding on various products.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and uphold safe practices in a production environment. Requirements include a diploma or bachelor’s in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering, 1 year

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the sheet metalworking industry (preferred).
• Knowledge of robot operation and programming (KUKA/ABB preferred).
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and laser welding processes (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the laser welding robot according to Work Orders and predefined programs.
• Develop programs and setup plans for the laser welding robot for both existing and new products.
• Edit tool and weld paths directly from the machine’s software.
• Advise and collaborate with Engineering/Work Preparation teams to optimize the production process.
• Participate closely in the design and fabrication of welding jigs and support re-engineering efforts to ensure product suitability for laser welding automation.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines, fixtures, and tools.
• Report and call Maintenance/Technical Service for any equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure safe working practices for oneself and others.
• Coordinate with colleagues regarding priority tasks.
