Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced Land Surveyor to carry out surveying and setting-out for a major hospital project.

You will ensure accurate positioning, levels, dimensions, and alignment in accordance with drawings. You will establish survey control, conduct pre-construction and as-built surveys, prepare survey records and reports, calibrate equipment, and coordinate with site engineers and subcontractors to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Land Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of land surveying experience on construction sites.
• Experience in hospital or large-scale building projects preferred.
• Proficient with Total Station, GNSS/GPS and level instruments.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting-out, surveying, levelling, and measurement works for construction activities.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, grids, and reference points on site.
• Conduct surveys to verify position, alignment, levels, dimensions, and elevations of construction works.
• Set out structural, architectural, roadwork, drainage, and other construction elements based on approved drawings.
• Work with Site Engineers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors to resolve surveying issues.
• Review construction and survey drawings to identify coordinates, dimensions, levels, and survey requirements.
• Conduct pre-construction, progress, and as-built surveys.
• Check completed works against approved drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare survey reports, records, calculations, sketches, and as-built survey information.
• Monitor and maintain accuracy and condition of surveying instruments and equipment.
• Assist in identifying discrepancies between site conditions and drawings.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on setting-out requirements and verification of completed works.
• Maintain records of survey data, measurements, coordinates, levels, and site benchmarks.
• Ensure surveying activities comply with project quality requirements and Singapore standards.

We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to carry out surveying and setting-out works for a major hospital construction project in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate positioning, levels, dimensions, and alignment of construction works, as well as preparing survey records and as-built information in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting-out, surveying, levelling, and measurement works for construction activities.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, grids, and reference points on site.
• Conduct surveys to verify the position, alignment, levels, dimensions, and elevations of construction works.
• Set out structural, architectural, roadwork, drainage, and other construction elements based on approved drawings.
• Work closely with Site Engineers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve surveying and setting-out issues.
• Review construction and survey drawings to identify coordinates, dimensions, levels, and other survey requirements.
• Conduct pre-construction, progress, and as-built surveys.
• Check completed works against approved drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare survey reports, records, calculations, sketches, and as-built survey information.
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy and condition of surveying instruments and equipment.
• Perform regular checks and calibration of surveying equipment where required.
• Assist in identifying discrepancies between actual site conditions and approved drawings.
• Provide accurate survey data to engineers and site management for construction planning and execution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on setting-out requirements and verification of completed works.
• Maintain proper records of survey data, measurements, coordinates, levels, and site benchmarks.

• Assist with inspections, testing, handover, and preparation of as-built documentation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Senior Engineer.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant land surveying experience in construction projects.
• Prior experience in hospital or large-scale building construction projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction surveying, setting-out, levelling, and dimensional control. Proficient in using surveying equipment such as Total Station, Auto Level, GNSS/GPS, and digital surveying instruments.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, survey plans, coordinates, levels, and technical specifications.
• Experience in preparing survey reports, calculations, and as-built survey records.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant surveying/CAD software.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices and site surveying requirements.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively on a busy construction site.
• Willing to work on construction sites according to project requirements
