Job summary

UL Solutions in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Laboratory Engineer to develop, execute, and manage test plans in line with customer requirements and industry standards. You will evaluate product performance, analyze results, and prepare technical reports, leading testing projects with focus on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in laboratory testing, product validation, quality assurance, or related engineering environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high levels of quality and customer service.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience addressing complex testing requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and laboratory personnel.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or training junior laboratory staff.
• Excellent written, verbal, and customer-facing communication skills.
• Innovative mindset with a proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience incorporating automation tools and technologies into testing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, modify, and optimize test setups to support evolving testing requirements.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory testing equipment.
• Train and mentor laboratory personnel on test procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, accuracy, and laboratory operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to improve equipment, processes, and testing methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
