Job description

The Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) is seeking a laboratory technologist to assist the Head of Operations and Facilities to ensure long term safety and operational readiness of the cleanroom, lab facilities and infrastructure. The duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinate and manage servicing contractors, ensuring that they carry out the regular preventive maintenance tasks of the ACMV (Air-Con and Mechanical Ventilation) tools at the highest efficiency.
  2. Perform regular inspections and safety training to the maintenance contractors, ensuring compliance with NUS safety protocols.
  3. Perform regular tool parts management, ensuring timely change-out of consumables or spare parts such as fan motors and bearings.
  4. Provide on-site training and user support for the operations of tools in the cleanroom.
  5. Provide basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for the assigned tools.
  6. Participate in facility/infrastructure projects to manage energy efficiency at CA2DM.
  7. Assist the fire safety coordinator in planning and coordinating safety-related exercises such as fire drills, housekeeping, and management system audits.

Job Requirements

  1. Possess at least a diploma in engineering or science discipline or equivalent.
  2. At least 3 years of related experience working in ACMV servicing and maintenance.
  3. Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience working in labs/cleanrooms or relevant workplace.
  4. Preferably trained in emergency response and first aid.
  5. Meticulous, resourceful and innovative with a positive work attitude, responsive and adaptive to changes in research environment.
  6. Able to work independently and a good team player.
  7. Good communication skills.
