Job Responsibilities:

1. Analyze samples to support operations staff in running processes, including setting up and operating laboratory equipment as per instructions.
2. Perform tests according to the Analysis Plan to monitor production samples and record test results.
3. Communicate results to relevant Operations personnel.
4. Prepare reagents and standards needed for analysis.
5. Ensure sufficient laboratory inventories such as chemicals and consumables.
6. Participate in job safety risk activities and adhere to safe practices.
7. Perform routine housekeeping to keep the lab clean and safe.
8. Cover duties in the laboratory stream as assigned.

Maintain laboratory equipment and quality system:

1. Calibrate, verify, and perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment as per instructions.
2. Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot malfunctions.
3. Update work instructions, analytical procedures, and laboratory records as needed.
4. Maintain laboratory records and the Quality file.

Requirements:

• Education: ITE/Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Experience: Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year in an analytical lab in the chemical industry.

Additional Skills:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Team player with attention to detail and accurate data recording skills.
• Knowledge or experience with laboratory instruments like titrators and chromatographs.

Lab Equipment Used:

GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass oven, Rotary evaporator, Density meter, X-ray, TOC analyzer, TGA analyzer, etc.
