Job summary

Mitsui Elastomers Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform daily shipment and non-routine analysis of production samples for Alpha-Olefin Copolymers (TAFMER & EPR) in the chemical plant. Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Supervisor, you will ensure SOP adherence and accurate documentation of test results.

Diploma holders in Chemistry/Engineering/Materials Science with 5 years of relevant experience are ideal, but entry-level applicants are welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent.
• 5 years of relevant experience preferred; entry-level candidates welcome.
• Self-motivated with ability to multitask and work well in a team.
• Good communication skills; able to document test results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily shipment and non-routine analysis of in-process and finished products per SOP and safe work procedures.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment to maintain good working condition.
• Maintain documentation control for test results and QC records per SOP.
• Prepare density columns for grade transitions and testing.
• Ensure good housekeeping in the Laboratory.
• Provide support for laboratory-related assignments as directed by supervisor.

Reporting to Senior Laboratory Supervisor, this position will perform laboratory testing and ad-hoc analyses of production samples of Alpha-Olefin Copolymers, namely TAFMER™ & EPR products, for the chemical plant.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily shipment and non-routine analysis of in-process and finished products in accordance to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and safe work procedures

• Perform basic calibration for laboratory equipment to ensure that they are maintained in good working condition

• Carry out documentation control for test results and ensure proper documentation of laboratory work and quality control records in accordance to the SOP

• Prepare density columns for grade transition for in-process and classification testing

• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in the Laboratory

• Provide support for Laboratory-related assignments as and when assigned by immediate superior

Requirements:

• Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or an equivalent discipline with 5 years of relevant experience

• Entry level candidates without experience are welcome to apply

• Self-motivated and able to multi-task

• Team player with initiative and good communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Able to perform rotating 12-hour morning shift work

• Able to perform overtime work if required

• Willing to work in Jurong Island
