Job description

Overall job objectives:

1. Responsible to provide technical (chemical) support for Consumer Products (Hardline, Toys, Children’s products etc.) to operational functions in the most efficient manner for all concerned.

2. Achieves operational objectives by recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining administrative system improvements; implementing change.

3. Responsible for satisfying client requirements and fulfilling national/international regulations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the lab operation including equipment, employees, supplies, process, inventory, and documentation and operate laboratory in safely manner

  • Communicate with clients (local & overseas), resolving the technical (chemical) problems and handling complaints.

  • Support ASEAN region in building local capabilities and facilities, including develop and validate test method, as agreed by the leadership team. Develop new capabilities within the agreed timeline.

  • Perform gap analysis on technical capabilities required and support in laboratory scope expansion for new services or markets to meet emerging trends or market demands.

  • Approval for Consumer Products Testing technical reports (chemical). Review technical data, and any associated corrective actions required.

  • Work closely with Business Development /Sale team to review products and advise the appropriate test methods.

  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates technical and support staff; determines work schedules and work assignments; recommends staffing levels.

  • Report regularly on key aspects of the business, in accordance with routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements.

  • Ensure standards of testing, service quality, selection and usage of equipment and tooling, and employees’ performance are maintained to the highest possible level.

  • Support ASEAN to conduct Hardline and Toys Seminar/Technical Workshop for factories and buying agent.

  • Ensure all systems and procedures are control properly in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements and the company’s quality policy.

  • Actively involved in international advisory boards and standards development activities, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of current and changing requirements
