As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ensure High Standards of Laboratory Care:
    Maintain consistent and high-quality standards for complex laboratory cases in both clinical and research settings, with ongoing reviews and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Lead and Manage Laboratory Operations:
    Oversee the effective planning and management of the Laboratory department, including manpower planning, budgeting, and operational resource allocation to support both healthcare services and research initiatives.

  • Drive Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
    Lead inter-departmental workgroups and projects aimed at improving laboratory services, supporting integrated patient care, and enhancing research capabilities within the Centre.

  • Uphold Quality and Professionalism:
    Implement and maintain robust quality management systems and foster a culture of professionalism across all service and research laboratories to ensure accuracy, safety, and excellence.

  • Ensure Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance:
    Ensure all laboratory work processes and practices comply with the standards set by relevant regulatory and accreditation bodies, supporting audit readiness and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or equivalent.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, including clinical diagnostics, research protocols, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage departmental planning, budgeting, and manpower allocation. Experience in driving organisational change and service improvement initiatives.
