Laboratory Assistant I 6 Months Contract

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant (6 Months Contract - Maternity Cover)

Description: The Advanced Molecular Pathology Laboratory plays a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge biomedical research, with a specialized focus on rodent histology. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality laboratory services to meet the needs of researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate specialized laboratory equipment to provide histopathology services for the research community.
2. Perform essential histopathology processing techniques, including paraffin/cryo embedding, cryotomy, microtomy, and staining.
3. Assist in general laboratory logistics, such as equipment maintenance, inventory management, and housekeeping.
4. Support any ad-hoc tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
2. Strong basic laboratory skills with excellent manual dexterity.
3. Familiarity with histopathology techniques and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is an advantage.
4. Highly meticulous, organized, and capable of multitasking in a laboratory setting.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
6. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
