Lab Technician (12hrs shift / GC/HS, HPLC )

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Support Laboratory Manager on the operation of the QC laboratory
• Interact collaboratively with the production team to communicate test results and recommend corrective action.
• Perform a variety of daily to complex QC tests, including calculations, recommending general formulas, and responding to production questions and concerns.
• Advise production technicians based on the judgment and interpretation of results within general guidelines.
• Ensure smooth laboratory supplies to guarantee uninterrupted QC function.
• Ensure compliance of all laboratory activities with security, safety & environment procedures & requirements.
• Provide training, guidance, and technical counsel to new technicians.
• Investigate, prepare, and practice routine and non-routine analytical methodology.
• Main contact for Process Engineer/Shift Leads.
• Ensure compliance in QC work instructions adhering to ISO 9001 / FAMI-QS.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate complex equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Trainings

• Provide QC training requirements to new QC technicians.
• Complete refresh training on time.
• Coordinate and respond to support and coordinate with different departments for all QC relative activities.

HSE

• Be involved in site HSE&S efforts, including involvement in LSR, BBS, SAQ, safety committee, incident investigation, ERT, safety inspections, internal/local audits, HIRA, hazard studies (HAZOP), and others as deemed necessary by the site management for continual improvement of site HSE&S performance.
• Involve in hazard recognition and safety improvement for the lab.
• Execute HSE&S assignments as set by the QA/QC Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma in Chemistry (Organic, Physical or Analytical) with 3 years relevant working experience in a chemical/petrochemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing facility; a proven track record.
• Quality-minded attitude.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of QC equipment including GC/HS, HPLC, auto-titrator.
• Good working knowledge of QC manual titration; experience with amine relative testing is preferred.
• Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
