Job description

Role Purpose

Designs, executes, and analyzes experiments to develop new products and processes and optimize existing ones. Uses scientific methods to solve technical problems or enhance understanding. Serves as a technical expert in the field. The Singapore lab scientist also supports scientific queries from customers and internal/sales channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as a technical expert in upstream processing.
  • Manages lab equipment and resources.
  • Troubleshoots experimental issues with scientific acumen.
  • Documents data, writes reports, and SOPs for lab processes and instrumentation.
  • Provides technical training to customers, distributors, and sales reps.
  • Participates in focused projects as a team member.
  • Trains or coaches new employees, technicians, and interns.
  • Supports or leads continuous improvement activities.
  • Engages with end users on technical product specifications during lab tours.
  • Provides scientific resolution to customer or partner queries.
  • Adheres to all GLP safety practices.
Experiences/Education
  • Master’s degree in life sciences required; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of life sciences, bioprocess, cell biology, and molecular biology.
  • Minimum 3 years of mammalian cell culture experience, preferably industry-based.
  • At least 2 years of bioprocessing experience for large-scale cell production.
  • Ability to solve complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in English; Thai language skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with vaccine or viral vector production.
  • Familiarity with stem cell or immune cell workflows.
  • Understanding of bioproduction cell lines (HEK293, Vero).
  • Experience with stacked vessel technologies and bioreactors.
  • Capability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Flexible schedule and project management skills.
  • Cell line development experience.
