Job Summary

In this role you will be involved in routine and non-routine laboratory testing, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment in compliance to cGMP. You are required to ensure a continuous supply of laboratory operating items and proper laboratory housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing of incoming raw materials and finished products according to respective test procedure and compendia methods.

  • Co-ordinate and perform re-qualification of raw materials.

  • Assist in, or conduct, investigations of lab tests (e.g. out-of-specifications, deviations).

  • Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

  • Maintenance of chemicals and consumables inventory.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of all chemicals used in the lab.

  • Proper documentation and data entry of all test results.

  • Ensure all quality documents are properly filed and maintained according to SOPs.

  • Report all non-conformances and equipment failures to Chemist.

  • Perform routine housekeeping and active participation in 5S.

  • Ensure compliance to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Follow laboratory safety rules, regulations and standard operating procedures required for the task assigned.

  • Support in audit preparation.

  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.

  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science

  • Advanced Diploma / Diploma in Chemical Process Technology / Polymer Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry with minimum of two years relevant laboratory experience

  • NITEC/Higher NITEC in Chemistry or related science

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication skills; able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal manner.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team.

  • Good understanding and awareness of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
