Job description

Job Responsibilities:

Security Engineer is responsible to :

1. Implement and update security procedures in accordance to information security policies and guidelines.
2. Manage and operate security solutions: Syslog servers, SIEM, Privilege user management.
3. Review and conduct risk assessment on firewall and VPN access requests.
4. Conduct log/access reviews as per contractual requirement.
5. Configure firewall rules.
6. Evaluate and recommend new/upgrade of software and hardware for the protection of information systems.
7. Perform risk assessment on critical information security assets to identify threats and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation controls.
8. Conduct security audits, reviews, and assessments to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
9. Respond to security incidents using established procedures and technology.
10. Monitor, analyze, and report security threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities to information systems.
11. Work closely with network, system administrators, and application development teams to ensure security policies are being followed.
12. Monitor and announce security advisories to network and system administrators on security alerts and new/zero-day vulnerabilities.
13. Support internal and external audit exercises for the maintenance of various certifications and contractual requirements.
14. Keep abreast of security technological advancements, emerging information security standards, and new security software or hardware solutions.
15. Handle Change Requests, Service Requests, and Incidents.
16. Plan maintenance for all security equipment for patching.
17. Any other duties as assigned.

Period:

• 1-year outsourced contract

Location:

• Ang Mo Kio

Working hours:

• Mon – Fri; 8:30am – 6pm

Salary:

• Up to $5,500 + Standby Allowance $200

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security administration.
• Relevant Certification on IT Security is highly preferable.

Special Knowledge or Skills:

• Experience in using pen-test/Vulnerability Assessment utilities tools, SIEM, Privilege User Management, and systems administration (Windows/Linux) would be a plus.
• Able to handle demanding service response and recovery turnaround.
• Provide daily support to meet stringent SLA requirements.
• Meticulous and process-oriented.
• Good, hard-working attitude with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) to liaise with native English-speaking clients.
• Good teamwork.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to work with others to resolve problems.
• Good organization skills, with the ability to properly document and track information.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, although consideration will be given to experience and certifications in lieu of degree.
• ITIL certification will be an advantage.
• Good Knowledge of the following products will be advantageous:
