Job summary

Coinhako is seeking a KYC Officer to strengthen our onboarding and AML compliance across our digital asset platform. You will conduct CDD, manage risk assessments, and support AML initiatives."

The role welcomes candidates from traditional finance, capital markets, crypto, or law enforcement backgrounds and offers growth within a dynamic crypto environment. You will report to the Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO and collaborate with the compliance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance or equivalent preferred.
• Diploma in Law candidates will be considered.
• 2 years of compliance experience in finance preferred.
• Recognised AML certifications (ACAMS or ICA) desirable.
• Experience in crypto/blockchain environment or traditional finance helpful.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform KYC and CDD during onboarding of new customers.
• Perform KYC, CDD and review transactions during periodic reviews.
• Due diligence on onboarding and periodic reviews of vendors and counterparties.
• Conduct holistic customer risk assessments and assign risk scores.
• Screening, assess reports, and clear screening alerts daily.
• Escalate risk alerts promptly for review.
• Assist in Enhanced Due Diligence and controls.
• Review Source of Wealth and Funds information and verification.
• Participate in AML compliance projects and ad-hoc tasks.
• Report to Head or Deputy of Compliance/MLRO; dotted line to team leads.

Job description

Coinhako is looking for a KYC Officer to strengthen our onboarding and compliance operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO, you will play a critical role in conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD), managing risk assessments, and supporting AML compliance across our digital asset platform.

Whether you bring background experience in traditional finance, capital markets, crypto, or law enforcement, this role offers an exciting path to deepen your compliance expertise in the crypto space.

What you'll be doing:

• Perform KYC and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) during onboarding of new customers.

• Perform KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and review transactions during Periodic Review of existing customers.

• Perform due diligence during onboarding and periodic review with regards to outsourced third party vendors and counterparties.

• Conduct holistic customer risk assessment and allocation of risk scores.

• Perform screening, evaluate screening reports and daily clearing of screening alerts.

• Timely escalation of risk alerts to next level for review.

• Assist in Enhance Due Diligence, including risk mitigation and controls.

• Review customers Source of Wealth and Funds (SOW/F) information, including verification of SOW/F.

• Participate in AML Compliance projects.

• Ad-hoc projects delegated by compliance management.

• This role reports directly to the Head (or Deputy) of Compliance/MLRO.

• This role has a dotted line reporting to team supervisory leads with regards to daily operational matters.

What we're looking for:

• Preferably a bachelor’s degree in law, finance or equivalent.

• Diploma in Law candidates will be considered.

• Preferably 2 years of compliance experience in the finance industry.

• Preferably to have obtained recognised AML certifications (ACAMS or ICA)

• The candidate to have a good understanding and/or experience working in a cryptocurrency and blockchain environment, traditional finance or capital markets trading industry.

• Strong analytical skills with capability to work independently with minimal supervision, and ex-police officers will also be considered.

• Strong problem-solving skills and able to multitask.

• Strong team player, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

• Committed and passionate to go beyond the extra mile to succeed in this role.

• Adaptable in an ever-evolving digital environment.

• Those without prior experience will be extensively trained during on job.
