Job summary

Coinhako is seeking a KYC Officer to strengthen onboarding and compliance operations for our digital asset platform in Singapore. You will conduct customer due diligence, manage risk assessments, and support AML controls under the guidance of the CCO/MLRO.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of compliance experience in finance or crypto, with AML certifications. The role offers training, a dynamic startup culture, and exposure to fintech compliance at the forefront of crypto.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law or finance, or equivalent.
• 2 years of compliance experience preferred.
• ACAMS or ICA AML certification preferred.
• Experience in cryptocurrency or traditional finance is a plus.
• Analytical, independent, strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform KYC and CDD during onboarding of new customers.
• Perform KYC, CDD and review transactions during periodic reviews.
• Due diligence on outsourced vendors/counterparties.
• Conduct holistic customer risk assessments and assign risk scores.
• Screen and review alerts; escalate risks promptly.
• Assist in Enhanced Due Diligence and controls.
• Review Source of Wealth information and verification.
• Participate in AML compliance projects and ad-hoc tasks.

Job description

Coinhako is looking for a KYC Officer to strengthen our onboarding and compliance operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO, you will play a critical role in conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD), managing risk assessments, and supporting AML compliance across our digital asset platform.

Whether you bring background experience in traditional finance, capital markets, crypto, or law enforcement, this role offers an exciting path to deepen your compliance expertise in the crypto space.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform KYC and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) during onboarding of new customers.
• Perform KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and review transactions during Periodic Review of existing customers.
• Perform due diligence during onboarding and periodic review with regards to outsourced third party vendors and counterparties.
• Conduct holistic customer risk assessment and allocation of risk scores.
• Perform screening, evaluate screening reports and daily clearing of screening alerts.
• Timely escalation of risk alerts to next level for review.
• Assist in Enhance Due Diligence, including risk mitigation and controls.
• Review customers Source of Wealth and Funds (SOW/F) information, including verification of SOW/F.
• Participate in AML Compliance projects.
• Ad-hoc projects delegated by compliance management.
• This role reports directly to the Head (or Deputy) of Compliance/MLRO.
• This role has a dotted line reporting to team supervisory leads with regards to daily operational matters.

What we’re looking for:

• Preferably a bachelor’s degree in law, finance or equivalent.
• Diploma in Law candidates will be considered.
• Preferably 2 years of compliance experience in the finance industry.
• Preferably to have obtained recognised AML certifications (ACAMS or ICA)
• The candidate to have a good understanding and/or experience working in a cryptocurrency and blockchain environment, traditional finance or capital markets trading industry.
• Strong analytical skills with capability to work independently with minimal supervision, and ex-police officers will also be considered.
• Strong problem-solving skills and able to multitask.
• Strong team player, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Committed and passionate to go beyond the extra mile to succeed in this role.
• Adaptable in an ever-evolving digital environment.
• Those without prior experience will be extensively trained during on job.
