Job summary

ByteDance is offering an internship in its Technology team to work on cloud-native infrastructure. You will tackle large-scale Kubernetes cluster design, optimization, and observability, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge tech in a global company.

Interns will contribute to real projects, learn from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and social events as part of a structured program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in software development, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience contributing to cloud-native open-source projects is preferred.
• Hands-on project experience with containerized applications through internships, coursework, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with observability tools and frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, or distributed tracing systems.
• Knowledge of big data or machine learning workflows in a Kubernetes environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Design and evolve system architectures for ultra-large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Improve performance and stability of control systems in big data and ML contexts.
• Define and enhance Kubernetes SLOs and service level objectives.
• Analyze end-to-end latency, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes in production.
