Job summary

SIN HENG KEE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations, prepare ingredients, maintain hygiene, and assist with meal preparation in a fast-paced setting.

You will wash, chop, portion, marinate ingredients, assist with cooking, and keep workstations clean to meet food-safety standards. Knowledge of FIFO and inventory control is a plus. Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant, catering operation, or commercial kitchen.
• Familiarity with ingredients, sauces, seasonings, and preparation methods.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques applicable to the kitchen’s menu.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle vegetables, meat, seafood, and other ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling, portioning, and marinating according to kitchen requirements
• Assist with cooking and wok preparation to support meal production as needed
• Prepare sauces, seasonings, and ingredients following recipes and instructions accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to comply with food safety standards
• Store ingredients properly and apply FIFO procedures to ensure ingredient freshness
• Inspect food quality and freshness before preparation to uphold high standards
• Receive, organize, and store kitchen supplies efficiently to maintain workflow
• Minimize food wastage by using ingredients efficiently during preparation
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to maintain smooth operations
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards consistently
• Update and maintain accurate ingredient stock records for effective inventory control
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify the supervisor promptly when replenishment is needed
• Assist the frontline/service team during busy periods to ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor to support daily kitchen operations
