Job summary

CHRIS COMM PTE. LTD. is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the Head Cook in preparing and arranging food. You will help manage mise en place, ensure the head chef has all required items for smooth service, and assist with basic kitchen duties including cleaning and cleaning utensils.

This role requires a team player who can follow instructions, maintain hygiene, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices to ensure safe food handling.
• Aptitude for multi-tasking to manage various kitchen duties efficiently.
• Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals by cleaning, cutting, and chopping food ingredients under the Head Cook’s guidance to support meal preparation
• Set up and stock preparation stations and kitchen areas to ensure smooth and timely meal preparation
• Maintain food preparation and storage areas to comply with health and safety standards and prevent contamination
• Clean preparation areas thoroughly and manage leftover food responsibly to maintain hygiene and reduce waste
• Stock inventory and supplies accurately to support uninterrupted kitchen operations
• Communicate clearly and coordinate tasks with team members to enhance kitchen workflow and efficiency
• Follow instructions from the Head Cook and report progress regularly to ensure kitchen standards and timelines are met
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas according to company hygiene codes and health and safety standards
• Maintain overall kitchen cleanliness and wash dishes and utensils to support smooth kitchen operations
