Job summary

A local food establishment in Singapore is seeking a Cook to assist in food preparation and maintain quality standards. You will ensure the food presentation meets company guidelines while maintaining hygiene in the kitchen. Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of cooking experience and a WSQ Food & Hygiene certificate. This position requires working on public holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years of cooking experience.
  • WSQ Food & Hygiene certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of food.
  • Ensure food presentation meets company standards.
  • Maintain hygiene of workstation and kitchen.
  • Check quality of food products.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of ingredients.
  • Organize food storage appropriately.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Follow directions from Chef.

Overview

5 days work week (Required to work on PH/Weekends)

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation
  • Ensure the food presentation is consistent and as per company’s standard
  • Maintain hygiene of the workstation, storage area, entire kitchen and equipment according to the company SOP
  • Check the quality of raw and baked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of ingredients and packaging
  • Store all food and related items in a clean and organized arrangement
  • Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and reports malfunctions, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards
  • Follow advice and directions instructed by Chef to perform and fulfill tasks effectively
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Chef
