Job summary

Nayaka Services Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen Supervisor and Cook(s) in preparing and serving quality meals while upholding safe, clean and hygienic kitchen standards.

You will handle ingredient receiving, food preparation, and basic cooking tasks, rotate across shifts, and contribute to a cooperative team focused on consistent service and food safety. Willingness to learn and adapt to daily menu variations is essential.

Qualifications

• NITEC, Secondary School, SPM or GCE O-Level qualification, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of cooking or kitchen experience, preferably in a restaurant, food service operation or hawker centre.
• Possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate recognised by NEA.
• Willing to learn and develop new cooking and kitchen skills.
• Good team player with a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Responsible and committed to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, check and store incoming food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook rice, porridge and desserts according to the planned menu.
• Prepare meat, fish, vegetables and fruits according to the menu or instructions from the Supervisor.
• Mince, blend or puree food for residents with special dietary requirements.
• Prepare, load and clean food trays, equipment and service trolleys before and after meal delivery.
• Clean and maintain food preparation areas in accordance with hygiene and food safety standards.
• Dispose of rubbish and kitchen waste at the designated Bin Centre.
• Assist with receiving stocks and report any defects, malfunction or damage to kitchen equipment, fittings or furniture.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Management.
