We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Key Account Manager (Sales & Marketing) to oversee the strategic growth and development of WD-40’s business in Singapore. You will be responsible for expanding our market presence, fostering strong relationships with key customers, and strategically planning and executing sales and marketing initiatives to achieve ambitious growth targets. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a deep understanding of commercial distribution, armed with a proven track record in key account management, and a passion for building brands.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Account & Distribution Management
- Develop, manage, and grow relationships with key customers including retail chains, industrial clients, automotive workshops, hardware wholesalers, and e-commerce partners.
- Oversee and optimize product distribution channels within assigned key accounts to ensure optimal product availability and visibility.
- Present and secure buy-in from key accounts for marketing initiatives, new product launches, and promotional campaigns. Identify opportunities for new product placements and expanded distribution within existing accounts.
- Monitor and analyse key account performance, identify growth opportunities, and resolve challenges.
- Negotiate sales agreements, trade terms, and promotional plans to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels and sales out data to proactively identify and address potential stock-outs or overstocks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all customer-related inquiries, issues, and requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
Sales Planning & Forecasting
- Develop accurate yearly, quarterly, and monthly sales forecasts and monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate in-store promotions, merchandising initiatives, and other sales-driving activities in collaboration with key accounts.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Design and execute effective promotional campaigns, pricing strategies and trade marketing initiatives in accordance with yearly rebate and incentive programs.
- Identify and onboard new distribution channels and partners for geographic and product expansion.
- Regularly analyse sales performance, identify trends, and develop strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the products, their applications, and competitive offerings.
Marketing Plans, Brand Building & Execution
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive yearly marketing plans from planning to execution to grow both social media and offline retail presence. This includes sales analysis & projection, brand activation plan, omnichannel plan, budget planning and ROI analysis.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling marketing collateral, point-of-sale materials, and digital assets. Ensure effective execution of marketing activities and digital campaigns.
- Gather market intelligence, competitor activities, and customer feedback to improve future marketing strategies.
- Proactively seek opportunities to enhance brand visibility and awareness.
- Manage content creation, scheduling, and community engagement across relevant social media.
- Develop and execute e-commerce strategy, drive sales growth through effective online product listing optimization, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns on e-commerce platforms.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and submit monthly sales & marketing reports.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales volume, market share, profitability, and promotional effectiveness.
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and present business reviews to key accounts, highlighting performance, achievements, and future plans.
- Manage and maintain accurate customer records and sales forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in key account management, sales, or business development, preferably having worked in channel distribution previously.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of distribution channels, retail operations, and trade marketing.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Familiarity with SAP Business One.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license to travel across Singapore to meet customers.
