Job description

Our Key Account Managers champion relationships and service delivery as the lead for managing key accounts, focusing on grocery and online B2C channels. They aim daily to maximize sales opportunities for our brand principles in retail and grocery channels, delivering the best food ingredients to consumers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Management
  • Deliver an exceptional account management experience for retail grocery and e-commerce customers.
  • Monitor and report on customer activities and asset performance, including assets, sampling drives, new product launches, POS, shelf-space, and promotional activities.
  • Develop joint business opportunities with customers, leveraging market positioning and in-store performance to support range expansion.
  • Prepare and present business reviews highlighting category performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Respond promptly to invoice queries and maintain customer accounts within payment terms. Follow up on overdue invoices and escalate as necessary to prevent supply disruptions.
  • Represent Bidfood at customer events as appropriate.
New Business Development
  • Identify growth opportunities within managed accounts, including range expansion and new product listings.
  • Explore new brand placements from the Bidfood portfolio where there is sales potential.
  • Develop new customer opportunities in physical and online retail channels.
  • Prepare and present business proposals to modern trade channel customers, including product and price submissions, trade marketing, and promotions.
In-store Execution
  • Ensure in-stock execution and activation through the merchandiser team.
  • Maintain planograms, stock levels, stock turns, and promotional displays as per plans.
  • Execute promoter sampling programs in stores.
Trade Promotion
  • Implement annual trade marketing and promotional programs aligned with brand principles and trade marketing specialists.
  • Provide input into trade promotion concepts and creative assets that match brand identity and target audience.
  • Monitor and report on promotional results and ROI, sharing insights with customers and brand principals.
  • Ensure trade spend compliance and respond promptly to queries.
  • Manage promotion budgets to optimize productivity and sustainability.
  • Monitor competitor activity in key accounts and provide insights for market response.
Inventory Management
  • Provide weekly volume forecasts to procurement to align demand and supply.
  • Address potential inventory issues proactively, including slow-moving stock and demand mismatches.
  • Minimize stock write-offs through trade marketing, clearance, and claims from brand principles.
