Job Description

Keppel is a global asset manager and operator with expertise in sustainability solutions across infrastructure, real estate, and connectivity. This role is within the Environment department of Keppel's Infrastructure Division. Associates will gain exposure to the end-to-end operations and maintenance of a Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plant, both technically and managerially. The aim is to develop future leaders in WTE operations.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations/Maintenance Manager in controlling operations, maintenance, consumables, manpower, and budget.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with primary customers (National Environment Agency, Keppel Infrastructure Trust) and stakeholders.
  • Ensure efficient plant operation and compliance with NEA ISA, KIT, statutory/regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in managing the safe and efficient operation of critical and auxiliary equipment, including Boilers and steam Turbo-Generators.
  • Participate in activities in the Central Control Room (CCR), Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, and other plant areas.
  • Handle incidents with proper documentation and minimal disruption.
  • Enforce safety procedures and maintain a good safety record.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance for plant upkeep and repairs.
  • Assist in maintenance activities, including Mechanical and Electrical, Overhaul, Preventive, Corrective, and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Monitor plant parameters, troubleshoot, and adjust to ensure optimal operation.
  • Update plant status and communicate issues promptly.
  • Manage Jobcards and Permit-to-Work systems, ensuring safety and risk assessment compliance.
  • Support procurement inquiries and site inspections if needed.
  • Assist in audits and other activities related to BCP, IQC, R&D, ISO standards.
  • Be open to future overseas deployment or rotations in different environmental business areas.
  • Participate in improvement, project, and overhaul works, including value creation projects and coordination of contractor activities.
  • Manage contractor relationships, oversee maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong team player with leadership experience (e.g., CCA or NS records).
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good analytical skills; knowledge of statistics or programming (Python, R) is a plus.
  • Meticulous with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace and process safety; relevant certifications (HAZMAT, First Aid, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Interest in working in process plants and adaptable to waste handling and humid environments.
  • Alignment with Keppel’s core values.
