A leading company in telecommunications is seeking candidates for a 1-year contract role focused on maintaining access and transmission equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting faults, coordinating repairs, and ensuring service levels meet customer requirements. Candidates with relevant qualifications and a solid understanding of telecommunications engineering are encouraged to apply.
Location (Nearest MRT): Central
Salary: Up to $3,000 Basic Salary + Performance Bonus (Depends on Qualification & Relevant Work Experience)
Duration of Work: 1 Year Contract (Renewable)
Work Days & Hours: Mon to Fri, 9.00am to 6.00pm & Sat, 9.00am to 1.00pm
Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordinate closely with INOC (Integrated Network Operation Centre) on the timely fault clearing and service restoration of access and transmission equipment in order to meet the SLA (Service Level Agreement).
2. Troubleshoot fault related to access and transmission equipment. Escalation to tier two technical support if need arises.
3. Responsible for the daily schedule preparation and timely execution of the site survey, installation (including patching work) & commissioning, testing, replacement and preventive maintenance of access and transmission equipment to meet customer and operational requirements.
4. Monitor the health and performance of the access and transmission equipment in the network and carry out remedial action accordingly.
5. Provide support for re-routing or diversion activities during cable related service incident.
6. On standby duties and silent hour recall. Work on irregular hours, such as at night and on public holiday, weekends, at very short notice when need arises.
7. Coordinate with planner and contractor on the recovery of transmission equipment including shutting down of non-working equipment.
8. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum qualification of O Level / A level or ITE in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical engineering or equivalent
Good knowledge on telecommunications engineering and the working concepts of the transmission systems will be an added advantage
Good knowledge on Fiber Patching &/ Testing will be an added advantage
