Job summary

Metalcool Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Junior Tooling Engineer to develop hands-on expertise in cutting-tool manufacturing through inspection, job preparation, 2D drafting, CNC programming, and production coordination.

You will work closely with engineering and production teams, learning Walter Tool Studio and ANCA iGrind, and preparing comprehensive work orders, BOMs, routings, and clear job instructions for production.

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical/Precision/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
Strong numerical and spatial reasoning with careful work habits.
Clear communication to report discrepancies and technical questions.
Willingness to work in both office and production environments.

Responsibilities

Inspect incoming cutting tools against drawings, samples and orders for accuracy.
Identify and resolve missing or unclear technical information before release.
Prepare and revise 2D cutting-tool drawings for manufacturing needs.
Learn CNC programming using Walter Tool Studio and ANCA iGrind.
Submit drawings and CNC programs for senior verification prior to production.
Create production work orders with BOMs, routings and clear instructions.
Verify completeness of BOMs, routings, materials and drawings before release.
Retrieve materials from storeroom and organize with work orders for operators.
Maintain filing, revision control and traceability of production records.
Collaborate with production teams to support trials and drive improvements.
