Job description

About the Role
We are looking for a technically inclined and customer-oriented individual to join our team. Reporting to the Product Specialist Manager, you will support product research, technical enquiries and customer solution development while building your knowledge of industrial products and their applications.

This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in industrial products, technical solutions and solution-based sales.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Research and Evaluation

• Research industrial products, applications and market developments to identify potential opportunities.
• Assist in evaluating product specifications, features, suitability and alternative solutions.
• Gather product information, quotations and technical documentation from suppliers.

2. Technical and Sales Support

• Work with the Product Specialist Manager and Sales team to understand customer requirements and identify suitable products or solutions.
• Prepare product comparisons, technical specifications, proposals and presentation materials.
• Assist with product demonstrations and customer meetings where required.
• Help address product-related enquiries and technical questions.

3. Customer and Supplier Coordination

• Liaise with suppliers to obtain product information, samples and technical clarification.
• Coordinate with Sales, Procurement and Operations on product availability, applications and customer requirements.
• Support follow-up on customer enquiries and technical solution cases.

4. Product Information and Improvement

• Maintain accurate product specifications, application details and supporting documentation.
• Assist in updating product catalogues, sales materials and internal product information.
• Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product improvements and new product opportunities.

5. Project and Solution Support

• Assist the Product Specialist Manager with approved product initiatives, customer solutions and product launches.
• Coordinate assigned tasks with relevant internal teams and external parties.
• Track progress and follow up on outstanding actions to support timely implementation.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Around 1–3 years of relevant experience in technical support, industrial products, engineering supplies, technical sales or a related field. Fresh graduates with suitable qualifications and a strong willingness to learn may also be considered.
• Able to understand technical information and communicate it clearly.
• Good research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Organised, proactive and willing to learn new products and applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

The following will be an advantage:

• Exposure to industrial tools, hardware, equipment, MRO products or engineering solutions.
• Familiarity with automation, digitalisation or Industry 4.0 concepts.
• Experience preparing technical documents, product presentations or customer proposals.
• Exposure to ERP or CRM systems.
