Job description

As Junior Sous Chef (Halal/Banquet Operations), you’ll assist the Executive Chef in directing all kitchen activities and preparing our delicious Asian cuisines, helping create memorable experiences for guests. You’ll ensure your kitchen runs smoothly daily and maintains high standards for quality control.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Participating in the preparation of the hotel’s revenue plan and marketing programs
  • Working with superiors in managing the department’s budget
  • Organizing food products with cost efficiency
  • Attending and participating in meetings as required
  • Assisting in developing training plans and materials in line with hygiene and food safety guidelines
  • Supporting the management of daily food production operations in halal and banquet services
  • Communicating regularly with staff and maintaining good relations
  • Developing efficient work rosters aligned with labor laws
  • Assisting in creating popular menus offering value for money, following IHG guidelines
  • Participating in food tastings and events
  • Maintaining and improving food standards and presentation according to market trends
  • Ensuring safety procedures are followed in line with OH&S policies
  • Adhering to occupational health and safety legislation and policies
  • Familiarity with property safety, first aid, and emergency procedures
  • Taking action to address hazards and reporting dangers
  • Logging incidents and accidents as per hotel requirements
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, halal documentation are up to date and meet IHG and HACCP standards

What we need from you

● A minimum qualification of Diploma in Culinary Arts

● At least 3 years of supervisory and management experience in a culinary environment
