At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with academia and industry partners to translate innovations from bench to clinic using cutting-edge, industry-relevant technology platforms. We address complex and emerging challenges in various disease areas through interdisciplinary research. EDDC is currently seeking a highly motivated entry-level Junior Scientist with a strong interest in high-throughput phenomics. The successful candidate will support the implementation of experimental workflows involving high-content screening, automated imaging, and data management, contributing to the generation and organization of phenotypic data to inform early drug discovery efforts.
This is a laboratory-based role that supports cross-functional and collaborative research projects. At EDDC, the successful candidate will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team focused on integrating high-throughput experimental approaches to advance innovation in biomedical research and therapeutic development.
Responsibilities:
- Experimental Support: Assist in the setup and execution of high-throughput screening experiments, with guidance, particularly using High-Content Screening (HCS) methodologies. Support sample preparation, microscopy, and operation of automated laboratory instruments for routine image acquisition and data collection.
- Data Handling: Perform basic data processing and assist in the organization of large data sets from high-throughput experiments. Apply statistical and computational tools under supervision to support biological data interpretation.
- Protocol Adherence and Improvement: Follow established experimental protocols carefully and contribute observations that may enhance workflow efficiency and assay robustness over time.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical support to ongoing projects. Participate in lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of materials for presentations and reports.
- Learning and Development: Engage proactively in on-the-job training to build expertise in high-throughput phenomics. Stay informed about fundamental concepts and emerging trends relevant to the lab’s research.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Basic experience in laboratory techniques, ideally with some exposure to microscopy or high-throughput/high-content screening (internship experience will be considered).
- Familiarity with operation of laboratory automation systems.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain comprehensive, accurate, and well-organized laboratory records and experimental documentation.
- Willingness to learn and apply automated image analysis and basic data handling skills.
- Understanding of good laboratory practices and adherence to safety procedures.
- Experience handling biological data sets or introductory knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, Python) preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and to respond constructively to feedback.
