Job description

Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) is a drug discovery national platform in Singapore focused on translating research into therapeutic assets. We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to join the Discovery Biology (Immunology & Inflammation) team. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team to work on inter-disciplinary drug discovery projects, develop and perform assays with guidance from senior team members.

Principal roles and responsibilities:

    Develop and perform mammalian cell culture, biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays such as Western blotting, flow cytometry, thermal shift assays, plate-based assays involving fluorescence or luminescence for target validation and functional characterization of small and large molecule therapeutics.
    Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative or compliance-related processes.
    Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical support to ongoing projects. Participate in lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of materials for presentations and reports.
    Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.

Requirements:

    Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Molecular biology or a related discipline.
    Ideally knowledgeable in development and validation for biological assays
    Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.
    Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping, to maintain comprehensive, accurate, and well-organized laboratory records and experimental documentation.
    Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
