Job description

Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) is a drug discovery national platform in Singapore focused on translating research into therapeutic assets. We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to join the Discovery Biology (Immunology & Inflammation) team. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team to work on inter-disciplinary drug discovery projects, develop and perform assays with guidance from senior team members.

Principal roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop and perform mammalian cell culture, biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays such as Western blotting, flow cytometry, thermal shift assays, plate-based assays involving fluorescence or luminescence for target validation and functional characterization of small and large molecule therapeutics.
  • Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative or compliance-related processes.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical support to ongoing projects. Participate in lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of materials for presentations and reports.
  • Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Sciences or Master of Science in Molecular biology or a related discipline.
  • Ideally knowledgeable in development and validation for biological assays
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping, to maintain comprehensive, accurate, and well-organized laboratory records and experimental documentation .
  • Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
